A few years ago, when I joined Jakemans all waste went into general skips for land fill, this included waste sweets, plastic and cardboard packaging, canteen waste etc. The cost of the waste removal was at that time about £15k a year. In the time I have worked here our production has increased from 75 ton a week to 110 ton per week and waste has obviously increased in line with the output and our waste disposal costs were increasing. I was so please to be introduced to you and work together to get our waste sweets used for Anaerobic Digestion and have turn the cost of disposal into a small income stream. As we move on, I am now looking forward to your proposal for a complete waste service to include recycling our waste plastics and cardboard and achievement of the targets I set some years ago.
